CONCEPT
Minimal. Chubby. Playful.
My work primarily focuses on three-dimensional pieces inspired by animals and nature. By combining digital fabrication with handcraft, I carefully create each piece with the aim of conveying a soft and gentle sense of warmth.
Rooted in my experience as a product designer, I incorporate rounded, endearing forms and a sense of playfulness into minimal designs. Through this approach, I explore expressions that are simple yet quietly linger in the viewer’s mind.
ARTIST
Kazuhiro Minami
Born in Osaka, Japan. After working as a product designer for companies including a global consumer electronics manufacturer, I became independent and established my practice in Shiga.
As an artist and designer, I work across a wide range of fields, from three-dimensional and two-dimensional works to the surrounding design elements that shape the world of my creations.
Drawing on the sensibilities I developed through product design, I value creating works that people naturally grow attached to and that quietly linger in the viewer’s heart.
